Floro provides an online marketplace where people can discover, buy, sell and contribute to software, automation tools and related digital products.
This Privacy Policy explains how Floro collects, uses, stores and shares personal information when you use our websites, marketplace, developer services and related features.
Who we are
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, “Floro”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator of the Floro marketplace and related services.
You can contact us about privacy matters at:
Information we collect
When you create or use a Floro account, we may collect information such as your name, email address, account credentials, country, seller type and account preferences.
If you register as a developer or seller, we may also collect your public display or trading name, biography, skills, experience, profile image, optional GitHub or LinkedIn links for private Floro review, and information relating to software you submit to the marketplace.
Some developer information is intended to form part of a public seller profile. We explain which information is public when you provide it.
Legal identity information, private contact information, payment information, tax information and identity verification information are not intended to form part of your public profile.
When you purchase through Floro, we may process information relating to your order, billing details, transaction status, purchased products, refunds and customer support enquiries.
Payments
Customer payments may be processed using third party payment providers connected to the Floro marketplace.
Payment providers may receive information needed to authorise and process transactions, prevent fraud and meet their own legal or regulatory obligations.
Floro does not need to display your full payment card details to sellers.
Seller payment and payout arrangements may also require information such as payout account details, identity verification or business information. Where possible, these checks should be carried out directly by the relevant payment provider rather than requiring identity documents to be stored directly within a public marketplace profile.
Developer and seller information
Developers can create a profile and apply to become an approved Floro seller.
Information such as your display name, seller type, country, biography, skills, experience and profile image may be visible publicly.
GitHub and LinkedIn profile links supplied through your developer profile are private review information, visible only to you and Floro administrators. They are not displayed on your public profile. We no longer request a Website field in the developer profile.
Information relating to your legal identity, private email address, bank or payout details, tax information and identity verification records is treated as private account information and is not intended to be displayed publicly.
Seller approval does not mean that Floro has independently verified every skill, qualification or experience claim shown on a developer profile.
Purchases and marketplace activity
We may process information about products you browse, purchase, submit or sell, together with order history, seller activity, product reviews, account status and marketplace interactions.
We use this information to operate the marketplace, provide purchases and downloads, administer seller accounts, review software submissions, prevent abuse and maintain transaction records.
Linked services
Floro may allow you to connect third party services such as LinkedIn.
Connecting a third party account is optional unless we clearly tell you otherwise.
When you connect a service, we may receive account information permitted by that service and by the permissions you approve.
You can disconnect optional integrations where that functionality is available.
Why we use your information
Depending on the activity, we may process personal information because it is necessary to provide a service or perform a contract with you, because we have a legitimate business interest in operating and securing the marketplace, because we need to comply with a legal obligation, or because you have given consent for a particular activity.
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw that consent.
Marketing consent is separate from the consent or information required to operate your Floro account.
Who we share information with
We may share information with service providers that help us operate Floro, including website hosting providers, ecommerce and marketplace technology providers, payment providers, email delivery services, security and infrastructure providers, and optional connected services selected by you.
Our current service stack includes services used to operate the Floro marketing website and the WordPress based marketplace.
We only share information that is reasonably required for the relevant service.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect Floro or its users, or in connection with the investigation of fraud, security incidents or abuse.
International data transfers
Some of the technology providers used to operate Floro may process information outside the United Kingdom.
Where personal information is transferred internationally, we aim to use appropriate safeguards required by applicable data protection law.
The exact transfer mechanism may depend on the provider and service involved.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including operating accounts, completing transactions, resolving disputes, maintaining marketplace records and meeting legal, tax, accounting or regulatory obligations.
Different categories of information may have different retention requirements.
Security
We use technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or loss.
No online system can guarantee absolute security.
Users are responsible for keeping their account credentials confidential and should contact us if they believe their account has been compromised.
Cookies and similar technologies
Floro may use cookies and similar technologies to provide essential site functionality, maintain sessions, support baskets and accounts, protect the service and understand how the service is used.
Where consent is required for non-essential cookies or similar technologies, users should be given a meaningful choice before those technologies are activated.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect baskets, accounts and other site features. Contact us if you have questions about the cookies used on the marketplace.

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights relating to your personal information, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent.
Some rights are subject to legal exceptions.
